Mercer Madrid is an exclusive, newly opened hotel in Los Jerónimos district, next to the Madrid Stock Exchange, Retiro Park, and the city's main Museums. It occupies a 1905 building designed by the Madrid architect Enrique María Repullés y Vargas, originally the corporate headquarters of the Spanish Sugar General Society. Following a comprehensive renovation commissioned to the Architecture studio RCCyP of Luis Galiano, in collaboration with the General Directorate of State Heritage, the hotel retains original architectural elements, such as flooring, ceilings, woodwork details, as well as the roof, the marble staircase, and the historic elevator.
